The Magic Castle and Friends!

Haiyaa, dis picture remind me of childhood, watching all da Disney cartoons on weekend mornings. So much joy! Look at da colors, so vibrant! I feel like I wanna bake somthin’ special, somthin’ dat brings da same kind of magic.

Walt Disney Castle and CharactersSo, I tink, how about we make… Mickey Mouse Shaped Cookies! Yeah! So kawaii and yummy!

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Black fondant, for decorating (optional)
  • Red fondant, for decorating (optional)
  • Yellow fondant, for decorating (optional)
  1. First thing first, we gotta preheat da oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Make sure oven is nice and hot, okay? Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Dis important! No stickies!
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together da flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. We don’t want no lumps! Smooth like silk!
  3. In a large bowl, cream together da butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Use electric mixer! Much easier!
  4. Beat in da eggs one at a time, then stir in da vanilla extract. Vanilla make everything taste better! Ah-mazing!
  5. Gradually add da dry ingredients to da wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Don’t overmix! We don’t want tough cookies!
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll out da dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Use Mickey Mouse cookie cutter! If no have, use round one and add ears later! Be creative!
  7. Place da cookies on da prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each cookie. Don’t overcrowd! Cookies need breathing room!
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until da edges are lightly golden brown. Watch carefully! No want burn! Keep eye on dem!
  9. Let da cookies cool on da baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Patience is a virtue! Let them cool down so no melt da icing!
  10. Now da fun part! Decorate da cookies with black, red, and yellow fondant to make Mickey Mouse! Get creative! Make different expressions! Have fun! You can even use icing if no have fondant, ne?
  11. After decorating, let the cookies sit for 30 minutes to set the color, so the cookie can have a bright look.
  12. Enjoy your Mickey Mouse cookies with a glass of milk! So yummy! Perfect treat for kids and adults! Arigato!

Ahhh, just thinking about these cookies makes me smile! I hope you enjoy making them too! Let me know how they turn out, okay? Maybe you can add some sprinkles too! So many possibilities! Okay bye bye now!
