Oh my goodness, look at this! Such pretty picture, eh? Reminds me of my childhood watching Disney films with my family. Makes me so happy! We always made special treats to eat while watching. Let’s make something special now, okay?
Walt Disney Castle – Let’s Build a Delicious Dream!
Inspired by this magical castle, we’ll make a layered dessert – like a little edible castle of our own! So yummy and fun to eat with the family! This one is perfect for those big family nights!
Ingredients:
- 1 package (8 ounces) chocolate wafer cookies, finely crushed (like Oreo, but without the filling!)
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles
- Strawberry slices, for decoration (optional, but very pretty!)
- Blue food coloring (optional, for a “sky” effect)
Instructions:
- Make the Crust (the foundation, like the castle’s base!): In a medium bowl, combine the crushed chocolate wafer cookies and melted butter. Press evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. This part very important, make sure nice and firm!
- Cream Cheese Layer (the walls of our castle!): In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. No lumps, okay? This is very important for the texture!
- Whipped Cream Layer (the fluffy clouds around the castle!): In a separate large bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream with the powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overbeat, or it will become butter! (But hey, that’s okay too, we can use it for something else! Waste not, want not!). If you want, add a tiny drop of blue food coloring to make it a “sky” color. Just a tiny bit!
- Layer it Up! (building our dream castle!): Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the chocolate cookie crust. Then, spread half of the whipped cream over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with half of the mini chocolate chips and sprinkles. Repeat the layers with the remaining cream cheese mixture, whipped cream, chocolate chips, and sprinkles.
- Chill Time (the castle needs to rest!): Cover the springform pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. This allows the flavors to meld together and the layers to set. Very important step, be patient!
- Decorate (make it even more magical!): Before serving, carefully remove the sides of the springform pan. Decorate with strawberry slices around the edge, if desired. You can even pipe extra whipped cream to make towers! Let your creativity shine!
- Enjoy (the best part!): Slice and serve! Everyone will love this layered dessert, it’s so pretty and delicious! Makes everyone happy, just like Disney movies!
See? So easy and fun! This dessert is perfect for a special occasion or just a regular weeknight when you want a little bit of magic. Enjoy with your family and friends! Maybe watch a Disney movie while you eat it? Perfect combination!
